As a part of the Community Living Center renovation at the Syracuse VA, custom steel supports were installed in each of the bathrooms. These new steel supports were used to anchor custom handrails, which can be raised and lowered as necessary to allow wheel chair access. Steel plates were welded on both ends of the steel tubing; one end of the support was anchored to the concrete floor with concrete anchoring bolts, while the other was welded to the steel beams overhead.
